A few things you need to know about Konstantina
Κonstantina Kapanidou is a visual artist, a childrens book illustrator and an art tutor working in Greece and the UK. She was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece where she also studied Art at the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristotle University. After receiving a scholarship from Lilian Voudouri Foundation for Postgraduate studies, she went to the UK and in 2006 completed her MA in Fine Art at the University of East London. Ever since 2002 she has been exhibiting her artworks around the world, many of which belong to private and public collections and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has illustrated books mainly for Patakis Publications (Greece), educational periodicals and been comissioned to create illustrations for the Wellcome Collection (UK). Konstantina has also designed and illustrated 4 board games on development of speaking skills and emotional intelligence, for Play-learning.
For over 15 years she has been teaching art and illustration at schools, colleges and libraries in Greece, as well as the British Museum, British Library, Wellcome Collection, Royal Academy of Arts, and Central Saint Martins, UAL in the UK. As a big supporter of the Arts and their beneficial impact on people's lives, Konstantina has developed a number of thematic, educational programmes based on books, which are delivered through interactive play, drama, story-building and art.
